G2 – Housing

IC-Europe’s Housing working group, also known as G2, engages directly with European authorities and Member States to address the continent’s urgent housing crisis. By translating EU policy recommendations into action, participating in high-level institutional forums, and leading key European task forces, the group ensures industrialized construction remains at the forefront of scalable, affordable, and sustainable housing solutions across Europe.

The objectives and strategic initiatives of this working group include:

  • European Commission Housing Task Force Leadership: IC-Europe co-chairs Subgroup 3 of the European Commission’s Housing Task Force alongside the Austrian Ministry of Innovation to shape EU-wide housing strategies.
  • EU Housing Alliance Integration: the Association has formally requested to join the EU Housing Alliance to strengthen collaborative efforts with key European housing stakeholders.
  • High Level Construction Forum Participation: actively contributing to the European Commission’s High Level Construction Forum to drive transition towards modern building methods.
  • EU and Member State Engagement: monitoring urgent European communications, interacting with public authorities, and delivering continuous updates to association members.

The group was activated in 2026 and is currently coordinated by:
