IC-Europe President Pat Kirwan, Head of Design & Industrialised Construction at REDDY Architecture + Urbanism, delivered the closing keynote address at the AECI Forum 2026.
The event was organised by IC-Europe member, the Spanish Association for Industrialised Construction and took place on Wednesday, 28th October at COAM.
In his session, titled “Industrialised Construction: A Future-Proof Solution”, Kirwan provided an authoritative technical overview of offsite manufacturing across Europe. Drawing on practical European project experience and real-world case studies, he demonstrated how factory-based prefabrication addresses persistent productivity bottlenecks, skilled labor shortages, and decarbonisation goals.
Kirwan emphasized that scaling 3D volumetric modular systems requires a unified technical framework and European harmonised standards. Representing IC-Europe, he highlighted how modern methods of construction serve as the definitive solution for future housing delivery across the Single Market.
The keynote concluded the forum with a clear message: industrialisation is essential to meeting Europe’s urgent housing and sustainability targets.
