The European Association for Industrialised Construction (IC-Europe) held its Board of Directors meeting today, 1st September, in Dublin. Hosted in a hybrid format at the historic Irish Architectural Archive, members gathered both in person and online.
The attending board members and experts included Mr. Pat Kirwan (Reddy Architecture & MMC Ireland), Mr. Pierre Bruneau (ACIM), Mr. Aleksi Hillman (Adapteo), Mr. Radoslav Irinkov (CONTAINEX), Mr. Raphael Bruns (Bundesverband Bausysteme e.V.), Mr. Albin Bernhard (CONTAINEX) and institutional member Mr. Jose Antonio Tenorio (IETcc-CSIC). The team was further strengthened by IC-Europe Secretary General Mr. Jose Blanco and Manager Mrs. Rocío Avi. The session also welcomed Mr. Paul Tierney from MMC Ireland, highlighting string cross-border collaboration within the offsite sector.
A central point of discussion was the Irish Government’s massive €165 billion commitment to housing and infraestructure. This investment aligns with Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, positioning the nation as a key policy driver. The gathering emphasised how these public resources will accelerate modern construction practices across the continent.
Ireland aims to establish itself as a global leader in sustainable construction research and technological innovation. Central to this strategy is the Housing for All governmental plan, which explicitly recognises that the industry must meet new housing demand efficiently. Adopting offsite methods remains vital to delivering scalable, high-quality, and evironmentally resposible homes.
